Most at home with right-of-centre politics based on pragmatism rather than ideology. Studied Classics at Oxford Uni. ("Literae Humaniores" as they call it there.) Is a traditionalist in believing that Islam is as fine as it's always been. Is a maverick in thinking that interpretations of Islam for different cultures and times are unsuitable for modern Britain.
